Cross the garden and step over the palisade. Descend into the high grass until the end of the field. Enter the wood. It is here that L’Aval begins. A couple of small steps through the forest pushing into clearings, an invisible path. Alternating slopes gentle and steep. There is an abandoned hamlet: five crumbled houses that the ivy consciously devours. Descend until you awake the river. A barrier. A couple of shoelaces left until you stop walking. Steps as if your feet were to slow down time. So I counted them. Little by little. Steps like a measure unit on a map. Water flowing downstream to never come back and the slow movement of wind in the trees, a continuous discovery of the area. An exploration. Step by step.
